Blog Candy Winner and LNS Challenge 174!

Hey there!  Whew!  It's been a busy week around here!  With the husband out of town, and the little man having a birthday (not to mention having to do all the preparations for his birthday party this Sunday), I have not had 5 minutes on the computer!  So...sorry for the long delay, but I did select a winner!  (Well, Random.org did, anyway).

Follower #45 is Stampmomx2sc!  So...congratulations and email me your shipping address so I can get your goodies sent out!

And on to today's share!  Today's share is my submission for this week's LNS Challenge which is Masculine Cards.  When I chose the colors and the DSP, I was totally thinking masculine...then somehow, I ended up with a butterfly on there.  Oh well...my husband likes butterflies so this will likely be his Father's Day card.  For this card, I used the Mojo Monday Sketch for this week, and I also used some of my brand new sneak peek products that I got last week.  Can I just say that the new Firm Foam pads are FABULOUS!  And I really like the new In-Colors.  I'm a happy stamper!

So, here's the Mojo Monday Sketch:

And here's my card:

Supplies: (items in Green are BRAND NEW, and will be available June 1st!
Stamp Sets:  Papaya Collage, Priority Mail (Hostess Set )
Ink:  Gumball Green, Raspberry Ripple, Midnight Muse (all are new In-Colors)

VC Rocks Blog Hop and BLOG CANDY!

Hello crafty hoppers!

Are you enjoying the hop so far?  I hope so...there's a lot of fabulously creative ladies in this group, and I love a reason to visit each of their blogs all in the same day.  My "ideas" folder is overflowing!  If you arrived here from an email, and not from the blog hop path, you're probably wondering what I'm talking about.  This weekend is the first Blog Hop for the VC Rocks group's 2012 Season.  This is an amazing group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators who get together online and host all sorts of challenges, blog hops, and lively conversations in an effort to celebrate the release of the new Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.  It's really alot of fun to see what the ladies have to post, so please, check out the hop.

To start from the beginning, click HERE to go to the VC Rocks group homepage.
Or you can just continue from me, and it will eventually loop you back around.

So....here we go!
Today's share is a set of coasters I made using the Beau Chateau DSP, which of course will be retiring in just 13 short days.  This was one of my favorite paper packs of this year's catalog, and I will be sad to see it go.

To turn these tiles into coasters, I used a Mod Podge-like glue to adhere the DSP to the top of the coaster.  Then I applied 3 more thin coats of the glue on top of the paper, drying in between each coat with my heat tool.  This not only adheres the paper to the coaster and gives it a glossy look, but it waterproofs it from my sweaty ice-cold sweet tea glass!  To give the coasters a more finished look, I used my Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker to color the edges of the coasters so they wouldn't be such a stark white.  Finally, I applied cork feet to the bottom to make them more stable, and more end-table friendly.

BLOG CANDY!
I hope you like today's project...and at the end of the weekend, I will draw a name from all of my current subscribers/follwers, and the lucky winner will receive a set of these coasters and a few other goodies as blog candy!  So, if you like what you see, please be sure to sign up as a follower!

Ok...off you go to see what Tania has in store for you over at Something to Scrap About.
