Mojo Monday #226

Hey everyone!
It's Monday, so that means another Mojo Monday sketch for ya...

I really liked this one as it gave us the choice to go round or square. I ended up going square, but my twist was that the main image area on the front is actually cut OUT of the front of the card window-style, instead of being another set of layers ON TOP of the front of the card. I tried to give it just a little bit of bling with a glimmer brad and some smooch spritz, but didn't realize that my smooch spritz was close enough to empty that it made big splatters on my card...sooooo...I'm sorry about that!

I hope you like my card, and thanks for looking!
Here's the sketch:

And here's what I did with it:
Stamps: Mixed Bunch, Happy Greetings
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Blushing Bride
Cardstock: Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White
Accessories: Twitterpated DSP, Basic Gray Satin Ribbon, Blossom Punch, Glimmer Brad Subtles, White Bakers Twine, Big Shot, Framelits, Smooch Spritz Vanilla, Color Spritzer, Basic Gray Marker, Crumb Cake Marker

    A Little Bit of Good

So today's share is one of my favorite cards I've made lately. I love the saying, it uses my current favorite DSP...I just love it. It's very simple, and quick to reproduce if you're making a set of cards for a gift. Stamping Supplies are always listed below the image, so please let me know what you think, and as always, thanks for looking!

    Stamps: Pursuit of Happiness
    Ink: Calypso Coral
Cardstock: Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White

    Faux Quilt

So today's share came from a challenge I saw somewhere last week to use a Technique that I don't use very often. Well, this faux quilt is a technique I learned at a swap I crashed at Convention this year. It is the quickest, easiest thing EVER...and looks so cool! Don't you think? I also used one of my favorite stamps for the sentiment.

Please let me know what you think, and as always, thanks for looking!

    Stamps: Pursuit of Happiness
    Ink: Poppy Parade
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade, Whisper White

    Timeless Portrait Easel Card

Today's share is an easel card I made using the Timeless Portrait DSP and the new Framelits. This is another paper that I have a difficult time working with, but overall, I'm happy with the way it turned out. I think my favorite part is where I attached one of the Trinket Keys to the bow, and as you can see I used the new Large Pearls to hold the card in it's standing position.

Please let me know what you think, and as always, thanks for looking!

    Stamps: Perfectly Penned
    Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Timeless Portrait DSP, Big Shot, Framelits, Black Satin Ribbon, Trinket Keys, Large Pearls, Stampin' Dimensionals

And here's my card...comments welcome, followers adored...and as always, Thanks for looking!

    Running in Heels

Ok, I don't do these very often, but decided to try my hand at one. For this inspiration challenge, we were instructed to choose something from Polyvore, and use it as inspiration for our project. Well..here's what I chose:

While I absolutely do not have any interest in the drama house that is the Kardashians, I just liked the colors, so that's what I took from this picture. Here's my card...please let me know what you think, and as always, thanks for looking!

    Stamps: Favorite Thoughts, En Francais
Ink: Black StazOn, Not Quite Navy
Cardstock: Not Quite Navy, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight

    First Scrapbook Page of 2012

So today's share is my first scrapbook page of 2012! I used to do only scrapbooking, but then I got turned onto cards as that was what Stampin' Up! was "designed around"...but now...they're branching out, and I'm going back! This is a sketch challenge, so first I'll show you the sketch. I rotated the sketch counterclockwise for my page because I liked it better that way.

    So here's the sketch:

And here's my page...it is of me and my husband in St. Kitts for our honeymoon. We took our honeymoon on our 2nd Anniversary, because that's when the opportunity presented itself. It was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G...I can't wait to do something like that again!

    Thanks for looking!

    Another Day, Another Sketch

Today's share came from a sketch I found over at Freshly Made Sketches. The sketch itself, as you can see, is very simple, but sometimes, that is the challenge for me. I sometimes struggle with keeping it simple.

    So...here's the sketch:

And here's my card...as always I love to hear what you think and thanks for looking!

    Stamps: Nature Walk, Kindred Spirits
    Ink: Black StazOn
    Cardstock: Basic Black, So Saffron

    SC367

Today's share is a card I made for the Split Coast Card Sketch challenge that they do every Wednesday. The sketch was pretty simple, but I still always have a hard time deciding what I want to do with it. So...here's the sketch:

And here's what I did with it:

This is my first attempt at using the Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper. It is so pretty, but as I thumb through the papers, it seems like every time, the rooster holds me up. I'm just not a rooster person. But finally I just decided to go with it! As you can see, I used the new Framelits to creatively cut out one of the roosters from the DSP, and the next larger Framelit to cut a mat. I think the Antique Brads and the Basic Pearls give it just enough dressing-up.

I'd love to hear what you think, and as always, Thanks for Looking!

    Stamps: Creatively Yours
    Ink: Soft Suede
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Beau Chateau DSP, Framelits, Basic Pearls, Antique Brads, Stampin' Dimensionals

    PPA 126

For today's share, I decided to participate in the current PPA (Pals Paper Arts) Challenge. Right now it's a color challenge using the colors Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, and Very Vanilla.

I decided to make a 3D item as a Thank You gift instead of a card. I first ran a piece of DSP from the Pocketful of Posies package through the Big Shot with the Fancy Favor Die to get the bag. Then I embellished it with Very Vanilla grosgrain ribbon and some punched embellishments that I made using the new Framelits and the Apothecary Art stamp set. Inside the bag is a set of miniature cards with envelopes. We used to have cards this size called Ensemble cards...but not anymore. :( No big deal though...I just made my own. Keeping the cards simple, each card is embellished with a small strip of the same DSP, a few Basic Pearls, a bow, and a sentiment from the Perfectly Penned stamp set.

I hope you like it, and thanks for looking!

    Stamps: Apothecary Art, Perfectly Penned
    Ink: Not Quite Navy

    Mojo Monday #223

Hey everyone...it's Monday, so that means time for a Mojo Monday sketch. I used to do this every week, but I've been slacking off. But now I'm back!

So here is this week's sketch:

And here's my interpretation of it. I stuck pretty close to the sketch, except I changed the direction of the two scalloped focal points. The first thing I thought of when I saw this sketch, was that the shape on the right reminded me of the larger tag on the Two Tags Die. Sooo...you guessed it, that's what I used.

    A few details:
    • The brad is from the Sale-A-Bration ribbon and brad pack, available for FREE on January 24th.
    • The sentiment is stamped on Very Vanilla, and then punched out using HALF of the ginormous (2 1/2") circle punch.
Here's the rest of the Stampin' Supplies and as always, Thanks for stopping by!

    Stamps: Kind Thanks, Everyday Enchantment
Ink: Peach Parfait, Pool Party, Soft Suede
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Pool Party, Peach Parfait, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Big Shot, Two Tags Die, Lattice Embossing Folder, 2 3/8" Scallop Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Everyday Enchantment DSP, Sale-A-Bration ribbon and brad bundle, Crumb Cake Taffeta Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

    Enchanted Edges

Today's share is a super simple card using some more of the items from the new Occasions Mini catalog and also from the Sale-A-Bration booklet. I'm still having fun using this pretty new paper and the Mixed Bunch stamp set with it's coordinating punch, but I've also been trying my hand at some other new stuff. Look really closely, and you will see that not only is the Designer Paper cut with the new Edgelits, but I've also used the coordinating Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to go with it. The Adorning Accents Texture Folder set is a set of 3 Embossing Folders that are only about 1 1/2" tall by 5 1/2" wide. So, you can close them over your card in a small area and get these great embossed lines like you see below. I'll be playing more with these and other new products over the weekend, so stay tuned for more.
    Stamps: Mixed Bunch, Perfectly Penned
    Ink: Poppy Parade, Early Espresso
    Cardstock: Poppy Parade
Accessories: Everyday Enchantment DSP, Blossom Punch, Boho Blossom Punch, Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brad Pack, Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies, Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

    Fresh Vintage

Hey everyone! I know...it's BARELY still Wednesday, but...I'm sliding in under the wire, because I'm making a concerted effort to blog everyday...so here goes.

Today's share is a CASE from the most recent issue of Stampin' Success magazine-the magazine we demos get from Stampin' Up! every month that's full of great ideas and tons of inspiration.

This card is not difficult to make, yet still has that "you-spent-tons-of-time-on-me" look...

If you are wondering where you can find these great papers and stamps, well...you won't have to wait long. They are from this year's Sale-A-Bration booklet, and they only cost....wait...they're FREE! Yep! You read correctly. FREE. For every $50 of stamping stuff you order (from any catalog), you get to pick any item you like from the whole Sale-A-Bration booklet, FOR FREE! What's better than free stamping stuff? Well...I'll let you know when I figure that out...but stay tuned, because this offer starts on January 24th, and you won't want to miss it.

Ink: Soft Suede, Bashful Blue, Crumb Cake
    Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede
