Challenge 211 Happy Birthday!

Challenge 211 Happy Birthday!

Hey there!  This week, over at the Late Night Stampers Challenge Blog, we challenge you to create a project with a Birthday theme.  It can be a card, a scrapbook layout, or a 3D item...anything you're imagination can dream up!

My creation for this week is a card, though I am going to start mixing it up a bit as I am getting back to my own scrapbooking soon (or that's the plan anyway).

I used some new-to-me product...things from this year's catalog that I only recently got around to ordering, and am now in love with!

Stamp Set:  You're Amazing
Cardstock:  Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Midnight Muse

DSP: Parker's Patterns
Accessories:  Big Shot, Woodgrain TIEF, Silver Brads, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Floral Frames Framelits, Designer Buttons-Neutrals, Daffodil Delight Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

Challenge 178 Add an Insect!

Hello!

Happy Friday to everyone!  I hope you're enjoying the dreadful heat and humidity!  At least, that's what the weather here in Northern Virginia is.  That's ok...perfect reason to stay inside where there's AC and CRAFT!

So today's share is for this week's LNS Challenge.  We have a great challenge this week to welcome in Summer.  We all know that Summer means more insects-bees, ants, ladybugs, etc.  So in honor of Summer having begun on Wednesday, we will be celebrating insects!

Challenge 178
Add an insect
This week you must have an insect on your card, scrapbook page, project or any thing else you can think of to papercraft.

As has been very popular this week, I too used the butterfly as my insect.  I've always kept a good distance from anything that crawls, buzzes, or scurries, so...I went with the "girly" insect...

I CASEd this card from Stampin' Connection, but can't remember whose work it was, so if you can identify it, please, let me know so I can give credit where it's due!

Need some inspiration?  Check out the design team creations HERE

When you get your creation made you can upload it HERE

Can't wait to see what insects you include in your projects!

Thanks for looking!

Stamps:  Kindness Matters, Word Play
Cardstock:  Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Pool Party
Ink:  Early Espresso
Accessories:  Daffodil Delight 1/4" stitched grosgrain ribbon, Pool Party, Gumball Green, and Raspberry Ripple Stampin' Write Markers, Mat Pack, Decorative Label Punch, Basic Jewels Rhinestones

Blog Candy Winner and LNS Challenge 174!

Hey there!  Whew!  It's been a busy week around here!  With the husband out of town, and the little man having a birthday (not to mention having to do all the preparations for his birthday party this Sunday), I have not had 5 minutes on the computer!  So...sorry for the long delay, but I did select a winner!  (Well, Random.org did, anyway).

Follower #45 is Stampmomx2sc!  So...congratulations and email me your shipping address so I can get your goodies sent out!

And on to today's share!  Today's share is my submission for this week's LNS Challenge which is Masculine Cards.  When I chose the colors and the DSP, I was totally thinking masculine...then somehow, I ended up with a butterfly on there.  Oh well...my husband likes butterflies so this will likely be his Father's Day card.  For this card, I used the Mojo Monday Sketch for this week, and I also used some of my brand new sneak peek products that I got last week.  Can I just say that the new Firm Foam pads are FABULOUS!  And I really like the new In-Colors.  I'm a happy stamper!

So, here's the Mojo Monday Sketch:

And here's my card:

Supplies: (items in Green are BRAND NEW, and will be available June 1st!
Stamp Sets:  Papaya Collage, Priority Mail (Hostess Set )
Ink:  Gumball Green, Raspberry Ripple, Midnight Muse (all are new In-Colors)

VC Rocks Blog Hop and BLOG CANDY!

Hello crafty hoppers!

Are you enjoying the hop so far?  I hope so...there's a lot of fabulously creative ladies in this group, and I love a reason to visit each of their blogs all in the same day.  My "ideas" folder is overflowing!  If you arrived here from an email, and not from the blog hop path, you're probably wondering what I'm talking about.  This weekend is the first Blog Hop for the VC Rocks group's 2012 Season.  This is an amazing group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators who get together online and host all sorts of challenges, blog hops, and lively conversations in an effort to celebrate the release of the new Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.  It's really alot of fun to see what the ladies have to post, so please, check out the hop.

To start from the beginning, click HERE to go to the VC Rocks group homepage.
Or you can just continue from me, and it will eventually loop you back around.

So....here we go!
Today's share is a set of coasters I made using the Beau Chateau DSP, which of course will be retiring in just 13 short days.  This was one of my favorite paper packs of this year's catalog, and I will be sad to see it go.

To turn these tiles into coasters, I used a Mod Podge-like glue to adhere the DSP to the top of the coaster.  Then I applied 3 more thin coats of the glue on top of the paper, drying in between each coat with my heat tool.  This not only adheres the paper to the coaster and gives it a glossy look, but it waterproofs it from my sweaty ice-cold sweet tea glass!  To give the coasters a more finished look, I used my Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker to color the edges of the coasters so they wouldn't be such a stark white.  Finally, I applied cork feet to the bottom to make them more stable, and more end-table friendly.

BLOG CANDY!
I hope you like today's project...and at the end of the weekend, I will draw a name from all of my current subscribers/follwers, and the lucky winner will receive a set of these coasters and a few other goodies as blog candy!  So, if you like what you see, please be sure to sign up as a follower!

Ok...off you go to see what Tania has in store for you over at Something to Scrap About.

Click HERE to go to the next stop-and Happy Hopping!

Supplies Used:

Beau Chateau DSP
Mod Podge Glossy Decoupage Liquid
Stampin' Write Marker (Crumb Cake)
Cork "feet"

Going, Going... GONE!

Every year, Stampin' Up! releases a list of stamp sets and accessories that will retire to make room for all the new goodies coming. This year, the only difference is, the list is longer than usual. The good news? That makes room for EVEN MORE new products when the new catalog is released-which don't forget, is a WHOLE MONTH early this year!

Click on the "Going, Going...GONE!" image on the right side of my blog to view the retiring product list, then place your order on my website, or contact me and I'll be happy to handle all the details for you!
