Challenge 225 - Party Time!

Hey there Crafty People!

This week's challenge is all about the PAR-TAY!  We want to see your party projects...invitations, decorations, thank yous, whatever you've created for your special events!

To check out the awesome projects the rest of the design team has created, and to upload your own projects, click HERE to visit the LNS Challenge site!

The project I have for you today is a bundle of the stuff I've created and printed for my son's birthday party.  I used the Under Construction Birthday Ensemble Digital Download that came out a while back.
(Here's the stock photo)

Since my little guy is turning 4, and I'm not sure how much longer he'll be into cars and trucks and digging in the dirt, I thought this was a perfect time to use it.  The ensemble comes with a TON of stuff that you can just add your party info to and print.  Decorations, including banner pieces, water bottle labels, treat containers, candy bar wrappers and signs for things like the "Gift Loading Zone" are all included as well as the invitation template, a thank you postcard template, a HUGE stamp set, and more...all coordinating!  I haven't cut out the banner pieces and other decorations yet, so I am just showing you the invites and thank yous (inside and out...front and back).

If you haven't tried My Digital Studio yet, don't forget, you can always get a 30 day free trial from my website!  Just click HERE to get started today!  Plus, don't forget-until June 15th, there's a 25% discount on all print products...so whatever you decide to create, you can print it for less!

During your 30 day free trial, you have access to:
full design and print capabilities
ALL of the Stampin' Up! colors-current and not-so-current (NOTHING EVER RETIRES IN MDS!)
ready-made card, photo book, subway art, home decor and other templates
stamp sets
punches
designer paper
embellishments, and more!

I love to use it for laying out my projects so I don't cut up a whole package of paper before I figure out exactly what I want to make.

Ok...as always, thanks for looking!  Comments and suggestions welcome!

Apothecary Accents Window

Hey there crafty people!

Today's share is a card I CASEd from the new catalog and am using as my swap card for a team meeting this week.  I loved the idea of cutting the window in the front of the card and putting the flower on the inside. I tried a variety of different creative techniques with my punches before it occurred to me that on of my all-time favorite Framelits would work perfectly!  I find that I do that sometimes...I try to do something creative and by the time I get done trying all these different ways to think outside the box, it turns out, the simplest way was the best.  There are also some new In-Colors showcased here...hope you like it!  As always...thanks for looking.  Comments and suggestions welcome!

Father's Day Frame and Card Class

Hello Crafty People!

Today's share is a project I worked late into the night last night on.  On Wednesday, I have a class where my ladies are creating a home decor frame and one card for the special Dad in their lives.  Since there are so many ways to use Stampin' Up! product to make masculine projects these days, I struggled over the decision of what to make this project look like.  But in the end, I realized I had never done a piece with "The Open Sea" and a couple of my ladies had mentioned that they really liked the nautical theme for a masculine project, so that's what I ended up going with.

I can't show you the card yet, because I'm saving it for next week's post...so you'll have to be patient.  But know that it coordinates with this project, so if you like this one, please check back for the matching card!

Also, forgive the use of some retired products here...I don't usually use much retired stuff because it doesn't seem fair to show you a fun project and then tell ya "sorry, you can't get that anymore"...but a couple of these things (listed in red) are just too good to let go of!

As always, thanks for looking!  Comments and suggestions welcome!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  The Open Sea, Word Play (last chance to order this!  Retiring May 31, 2013!)

Challenge 222-Sorry to see you go!

Hey there crafty people!

This week's challenge over at the Late Night Stamper's Challenge Blog is to create something using soon-to-be-retired products.  My project involves a little bit of new stuff, with a few retiring things thrown in, so hopefully I haven't bent the rules too much.  :)

I CASEd this from Amy Storrie, and made it as a housewarming gift for a dear friend and former neighbor who just bought her first house.  She has been through a tremendous amount of stuff over the past few years, but with a wonderful husband, a healthy brand new baby girl, and now a beautiful new house, she has finally come out on top.  When I got this new stamp set in the mail, this particular saying made me think of her.

I hope you all enjoy it, and that you'll stop by to play along!  You can check out the design team's samples, and submit your creation HERE.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Feel Goods, A Round Array, Papillion Potpourri

Challenge 221-Celebrate!

Hey there crafty people!

My sample for this week's challenge is a digital creation.  My youngest brother is graduating High School this year, and since it's getting that time....we thought we better get a move on the invitations!  This is a tri-fold card created in My Digital Studio, but the image shows the card before it's folded.  For the front of the card (the left 1/3 panel of the card) I loosely CASEd a subway art creation by Janet Wakeland.  She is an MDS pro, so if I'm ever unsure of how to do something with my software or need a place to start, I usually go to her blog.

I hope you guys come over to the LNS Challenge Blog and give this week's challenge a go!  Get all the details, view the design team's samples for inspiration, and then upload your own creations, all by clicking HERE.

As always, thanks for looking!

Challenge 220- Switcheroo!

Hey there Crafty People!

I'm back with my sample for this week's Late Night Stamper Blog Challenge.  This week, the design team challenges you to switch it up a bit-that is, use a card as inspiration for a scrapbook page or other 3D project, or vice versa.  Maybe you've seen a sweet scrapbook layout that you want to scale down a bit into a card-GREAT!  Check out plenty of inspiration and post your own fabulous creation at the Late Night Stampers Blog!  Can't wait to see what you come up with!

So, my sample for this week is a collection of goodies I made for my husband's 2 secretaries at work...since this past Wednesday was Secretary's Day.  I used the Happy Hello Simply Sent Kit that you may have gotten for FREE during Sale-A-Bration!  I got the idea for the purse from a Facebook post by Lyssa Zwolanek and CASEd the cards from a sample I saw by Josee Smuck. Both of these ladies are fantastic Stampin' Up! demonstrators whose work I love.

Here's the inspiration images:

Supplies:
Stamps:  Oh Hello, Perfect Words
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Basic Gray, Baja Breeze and Gumball Green Stampin' Write Markers
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Daffodil Delight, Basic Gray
Accessories:  International Bazaar DSP, Big Shot, Chevron TIEF, Happy Hello Simply Sent Kit, Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon, Daffodil Delight 1/8" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Antique Brads, Stampin' Dimensionals

Ok...until next time-Thanks for Looking!

Challenge 217-Candy Bar Inspiration!

Hello Crafty People!

This week's challenge is a sweet one indeed.  We challenge you to create a project with a favorite candy bar in mind.  You can use the candy as color inspiration, or actually use the candy or its wrapper on your project-we're not picky!  Just show us your creativity!

For my card, I used the colors of a Mr. Goodbar.  It's not necessarily my favorite candy bar, but from the moment I heard of this challenge, it's the one that kept popping into my head, and I DO like the colors, so, why not?!

Stamps:  Oh Hello
Ink:  Real Red, Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Early Espresso, Real Red
Accessories:  Real Red and Daffodil Delight Stampin' Write Markers, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Ovals Collection Framelits, Daffodil Delight 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Real Red 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Basic Jewels Pearls, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig

Tips:  To get just the look I wanted, and the repeating pattern I desired, I used my Stampin' Write Markers to ink up my stamp and the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig for perfect placement

If you need some inspiration, don't forget to check out the rest of the design team's samples...we have some fabulous ladies over there...including our lovely guest designers.  We would also love to see what you've created, so don't forget to upload your sample once you've finished it!

Click HERE to head over now and get started!
As always, thanks for stopping by!
